Montessori Inspired Learning
A wise, Montessori teacher once told us, "Make it Beautiful, Make it Real." At Brandywine Bridge we hope to give children time to be in nature, experience beauty, and learn to create beautiful and useful things themselves. The quintessential Montessori Middle School is a farm. Here, at that critical time in life when children cross from childhood to adulthood, they can ask and answer the crucial question of whether they have what it takes to make it on their own someday. Children can learn to grow and prepare food, manage livestock, maintain and care for infrastructure, build real things, and develop the technical skills that will make it all useful in the modern world.
Brandywine Bridge seeks to leverage the skills and resources that parents bring to the table, and share those within a small community of families. By teaching groups of kids the lessons learned from a wide variety of jobs and life experiences, those lessons can have a greater impact than when they are simply taught within the home. Thus, a wider range of opportunities can be provided to each student.
